Are you a graduate student and postdoctoral researcher interested in working with our team? Check out our current opportunities.

Composites Research Network (CRN) is recruiting graduate students.

The Composites Research Network (CRN) conducts applied and fundamental research in many areas involving advanced composite materials and structures.

Areas of research interests include:

  • Processing
  • Impact
  • Fracture/damage
  • Numerical modelling

CRN works with aerospace and automotive OEMs as well as a variety of Canadian industrial and manufacturing SMEs.  CRN has a track record of excellence and is recruiting engineers to contribute to our long history of leading edge research in composites manufacturing.  CRN is looking for the brightest and the best to join our team.

The ideal candidate is skilled in some or all of the following areas:

    • Understanding the mechanics of composite materials and the physical/chemical phenomena involved in their manufacturing.
    • Knowledge in constitutive modelling of materials (viscoelasticity, plasticity, damage mechanics).
    • Finite element modelling or other numerical methods for solving boundary value problems in solid and fluid mechanics.
    • Ability to write technical reports and to communicate effectively in professional and technical meetings.

If you are the ideal candidate, send your CV to careers@composites.ubc.ca.
